Ikea, the Swedish furniture retailer, has launched a mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim titled Kallax Storageborn. This free creation introduces a new questline and a unique companion voiced by comedian Matt Berry, who plays a sentient shelf named Kallax Storageborn.

The mod's premise centers on the in-game challenge of becoming encumbered. Players will discover an abandoned dwemer emporium, where they will embark on a quest to uncover the origins of a "mysterious master." This quest involves assembling Kallax Storageborn, a companion characterized by its "unfathomable storage capacity." The companion can be summoned using a new Thu'um, Skyrim's signature voice of power, even when not the active follower. The ultimate objective of the quest is to bring order to the clutter within the realm of Nords and Dragonborn.

In addition to the companion and quest, the Kallax Storageborn mod incorporates new in-game items. Among these are the Meatball Helmet and the Allenblade.

The Kallax is an actual product line from Ikea, while Matt Berry is known for his distinctive voice work and comedic roles. This mod appears to be a marketing initiative, but it features a genuine quest and significant voice acting from Berry.

Those interested in experiencing the Kallax Storageborn mod can find it for free on Bethesda's Creations page. A playthrough of the mod has also been streamed by YouTuber ESO.
