Indiana Jones is set to embark on a new comic book adventure in Indiana Jones and the Sword of Pandemonium, a five-issue limited series from Marvel Comics. This marks the character's return to Marvel's comic pages for the first time in over three decades. The series is penned by award-winning writer Jason Aaron, known for his work on Thor and Star Wars comics, with art by Aaron Kuder.

The new series is set in the aftermath of the film Raiders of the Lost Ark. According to the official synopsis, Indiana Jones' most formidable villains, including a returning archenemy, are on the hunt for a new source of power. This power has apparently fallen into the hands of Marion Ravenwood, Indy's former companion. The story will send Jones on a global quest to find a biblical weapon, testing his archaeological skills and his skepticism of the supernatural.

Marvel has indicated that this series will usher in a new era of comic book adventures for Indiana Jones, with potential for more stories if sales are strong. The new comic is scheduled for release in December.

Marvel Comics previously published The Further Adventures of Indiana Jones in the 1980s. It remains unclear whether Sword of Pandemonium will be considered canonical to that earlier series or if it will operate independently.
