Injustice 3 Development Hinted at by Stunt Performer's Resume

Evidence continues to mount that NetherRealm Studios, the developer behind the Mortal Kombat series, is working on Injustice 3. Recent activity, including a stunt performer's resume, indicates that motion capture sessions have been completed for two characters, Supergirl and Batwoman, for an unannounced game.

The resume, noted by MP1st, specifically lists "Injustice 3" and details the performer's work on these two characters. Supergirl's inclusion aligns with her significant role in the Injustice 2 narrative, where she was instrumental in repelling Brainiac's invasion. Batwoman's appearance presents a more intriguing prospect, given her fate in the Injustice comic book series that ties into the games' lore. This alternate-Earth version of Batwoman, Katherine "Kate" Kane, opposed Superman's regime alongside Batman. During the fifth year of the rebellion, she is said to have sacrificed herself to activate a dimensional transporter, a move that inadvertently brought the Justice League to a different dimension. Regime Superman then seemingly killed her with heat vision.

However, the resurrection of characters is a common occurrence within comic book narratives, suggesting a potential return for Batwoman in a new installment. The last entry in the Injustice franchise was released in 2017. NetherRealm Studios subsequently focused on the Mortal Kombat series, releasing Mortal Kombat 11 in 2019 and its rebooted successor, Mortal Kombat 1, in 2023. Mortal Kombat 1 concluded its post-launch support in 2025, with NetherRealm stating at the time that the studio needed to "shift focus" to its next project. The potential acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery by Paramount could also influence the studio's future projects.
