Supergirl's inclusion is unsurprising, given her significant role in Injustice 2. The appearance of Batwoman, however, is more intriguing. Batwoman is depicted as having died in the Injustice comic series, which is considered canon to the games. This discrepancy could imply a number of narrative possibilities for Injustice 3, including the emergence of a new character under the Batwoman mantle or the use of time-travel elements, a mechanic NetherRealm explored in its most recent title, Mortal Kombat 1.
