Jay and Silent Bob, the '90s stoner icons who first appeared in Kevin Smith's 1994 film Clerks, are set to star in their own cozy farming simulator titled Jay and Silent Bob's Joint Venture. The game tasks players with transforming a neglected plot of land into a thriving weed business. "Armed with some old tools, a handful of seeds, and a couple of questionable business partners, you'll turn a trashed yard into a thriving weed business," reads the Steam description. The simulation will focus on the "old ways" of growing cannabis before corporate interests moved in, with players encouraged to experiment with different weed varieties and upgrade their in-game living space.

A Familiar Universe

Joint Venture will allow players to interact with "dozens of characters" from Kevin Smith's View Askewniverse films and visit iconic locations such as the Mall, RST Video, and the Quick Stop convenience store. The game also features dumpster diving as a gameplay mechanic. Starworks Studios, known for the 3D platformer Timeworks and the upcoming Boast Guards, is developing the title, which is slated for a Steam release in 2027.

Jay and Silent Bob have appeared in several video games previously, including the 2020 sidescrolling beat 'em up Jay and Silent Bob Mall Brawl and the more recent Jay and Silent Bob: Chronic Blunt Punch. The characters have also been featured in mobile games and are slated to appear in an upcoming VR title, as well as a cameo in Black Ops 6. The commercial success of these previous game ventures has been limited, but Joint Venture appears to lean heavily on narrative, potentially appealing to fans of the film series.
