Jeremy Renner Says Avengers Will Lose Doomsday Without Hawkeye

Jeremy Renner, known for his role as Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has stated that the Avengers will likely lose in the upcoming film Avengers: Doomsday. In a recent Q&A session, Renner humorously attributed this impending defeat to the team's failure to involve his character. "Doomsday, I'm not in," Renner said in a clip shared on X/Twitter. "So, the Avengers will probably lose, just so you know. They didn't call me, so it's their fault they're gonna lose."

Renner's Clint Barton has been a fan favorite since his debut in 2011's Thor. The character has since played significant roles in major Avengers films and even led his own Disney+ series, Hawkeye. However, he has not always been present for every major conflict, notably sitting out Avengers: Infinity War, which saw Thanos's devastating victory. He did, however, return for Avengers: Endgame, which ultimately resulted in the heroes' triumph.

With Avengers: Doomsday scheduled for release on December 18, 2026, Renner's Hawkeye appears to be absent once again. The actor's future in the MCU remains uncertain, though he has previously expressed openness to returning for a potential Hawkeye Season 2. For now, fans will have to wait and see how the Avengers fare against Doctor Doom's multiversal conquest without the archery skills of Hawkeye.
