Jeremy Saulnier, known for his work on "Green Room" and "Rebel Ridge," is set to release a new action-thriller titled "Slayground." Distributor A24 debuted the film's first trailer on Tuesday, offering a glimpse into the mysterious plot that revolves around a mass-casualty event at a haunted attraction.
The film, which was previously known as "October," is scheduled to arrive in theaters on January 29, 2027. The trailer maintains an air of mystery, but A24 has provided an official synopsis:
"Scare-actor ‘Metal Mike’ Graves wakes up in a haunted attraction surrounded by the dead bodies of his co-workers with no memory of how they got there. As a state-wide manhunt closes in, he races to uncover the truth – even if the trail leads straight back to him."
Saulnier both wrote and directed "Slayground." The cast includes Cory Michael Smith, Chase Sui Wonders, Sophie Wilde, James Badge Dale, Stanley Simons, Stephen Root, Chris Sullivan, and Young Mazino. The film's score will be composed by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross.
Fans of Saulnier's previous work, such as "Blue Ruin" and "Hold The Dark," can anticipate his signature blend of suspense, grounded violence, and tightly wound tension in "Slayground."
