Wolf Haus Games' upcoming cult simulation title, Join Us, aims to deliver an over-the-top experience that blends emergent storytelling with a self-aware sense of humor. The game, which debuted during the Xbox June 2026 Showcase and is slated for a March 2027 release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, tasks players with establishing and managing their own chapter of a doomsday cult.

Players begin by customizing their cult with unique logos, color schemes, uniforms, and naming conventions. Following a brief tutorial led by the overarching cult leader, players learn basic mechanics such as combat and resource gathering. The game does not shy away from its own absurdity, incorporating self-referential humor into its gameplay, such as assigning jobs via a spinning wheel. Upon starting, players are sent to a fictional Bedford County, where they must immediately deal with threats like armed burglars, establishing a base of operations, and gathering resources through hunting, stealing, or cultivation.

Recruitment is a key mechanic, with players distributing propaganda to locals. Each potential recruit has a susceptibility percentage, indicating their likelihood of joining. Once recruited, members can be assigned tasks, such as tending to crops, and players can even swap to control them. However, the notes indicate that recruited members may not perform tasks as effectively as the leader. The simulation element truly begins once members are integrated into the compound, with assigned tasks and defensive actions, such as fending off police if the player commits illegal acts like shooting bystanders.

The preview suggests that Join Us draws inspiration from games like Goat Simulator and State of Decay, aiming for a chaotic and unpredictable sandbox experience. The developers have indicated that the gameplay experienced is merely the beginning, with the world evolving through different phases and cult prophecies potentially coming to fruition. This suggests a progression system and a narrative that escalates in wildness as players advance.
