The upcoming Jujutsu Kaisen game, tentatively titled Rumble: Survivaton, has been officially delayed to 2027. The crossover title, developed by poncle, the studio behind Vampire Survivors, was originally slated for release in 2026. The new release window aligns with the expected debut of the next season of the Jujutsu Kaisen anime.
Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivaton is described as a "survivors royale" where players battle cursed spirits and rivals, aiming to grow stronger throughout matches and emerge as the last player standing. The game will feature eight-player online multiplayer and a solo mode. Its gameplay appears to blend the escalating roguelike elements found in Vampire Survivors with the elimination mechanics of a battle royale. The game's premise mirrors the anime's Culling Games arc, where powerful sorcerers compete in a tournament.
Players who reach 100 points can introduce new rules to alter gameplay dynamics, similar to in-game events in the anime. The latest trailer revealed several playable characters, including Yuji, Nobara, Megumi, Maki, Choso, Gojo, and Yuta, with over 20 fighters planned. Boss characters such as Jogo, Geto, and Mahito are also slated to appear, potentially as mid-round encounters.
The trailer also showcased unique cursed techniques for various characters, which can be activated upon filling a dedicated bar, allowing for the clearing of enemy waves. Experience points gained from defeating common enemies can be used to upgrade characters and unlock new skills within a single round. While the game's initial presentation may not be groundbreaking, its development by the studio responsible for the addictive Vampire Survivors suggests it could become another highly engaging title.
