Czech Games has announced an upcoming board game adaptation of Warhorse Studios' medieval role-playing game, Kingdom Come: Deliverance. The tabletop version, titled Kingdom Come: Deliverance – The Board Game, is currently available for preorder with an expected shipping date in the first quarter of 2027. This marks another entry in the trend of video game adaptations transitioning to the board game market, following titles like Elden Ring and Final Fantasy 7.
The development team behind the board game includes notable designers Tomáš Holek, creator of the strategy game SETI, and Vlaada Chvátil, known for the party game Codenames and the civilization-building game Through the Ages. These designers aim to translate the solo video game experience into a compelling multiplayer board game, a transition that can often prove challenging. The designers are reportedly taking the adaptation seriously, focusing on gameplay mechanics alongside aesthetic elements.
Set in Medieval Bohemia, Kingdom Come: Deliverance – The Board Game allows players to begin as commoners and forge their own paths. The game will feature major storylines tied to three distinct cities, with player choices influencing the progression of these narrative arcs. Numerous side quests will also be available, offering opportunities to gather resources and experience to develop player characters. The core design goal is to emulate the open-world feel of the original video game while ensuring each playthrough offers a unique experience.
Mechanically, the board game will involve deck-building for skill tests, with a significant emphasis on player agency in selecting equipment and prioritizing skills such as hunting, fighting, and stealing. Similar to other complex strategy board games, a full playthrough is expected to be time-consuming. A solo game is estimated to take around 90 minutes, while a four-player session could last up to six hours. The game is priced at $199.99 (€149.99). An optional upgrade, featuring 75 metal coins inspired by medieval European currency, is available for an additional $49.99.
