Luke Dale, the voice actor behind Lord Hans Capon in "Kingdom Come: Deliverance" and its sequel, has voiced significant disappointment with the broader video game industry's recognition of his work. Despite delivering memorable performances that have been experienced by millions, Dale stated in a recent "Firezide Chat" that the industry has largely failed to offer him further opportunities. "I wish I could say that Kingdom Come 2, the work I've done and the fact it's been played by millions of people led to more work, but it didn't," Dale remarked.
Dale indicated that he had hoped his contributions to the "Kingdom Come" series would translate into more roles in other games. However, he feels the industry has been unsupportive, noting, "The industry at large has never really given a fuck." He also praised the game's developer, Warhorse, for their consistent support throughout his involvement.
Since his initial role in "Kingdom Come: Deliverance," Dale's documented video game work, according to his IMDB profile, includes voice roles in "Battlefield 5" and a part in the VR game "TaVRn's Takedown – Naheulbeuk." This limited output contrasts with the impact of his "Kingdom Come" performances.
In response to this perceived lack of industry recognition, Dale has actively pursued streaming on Twitch, where he has amassed over 72,000 followers. He described this venture as a way to create something personally rewarding, stating, "If more acting work comes from this, great, but I'm not going to rely on that." He found that a community was eager for his streaming content, and he has dedicated himself to building it.
Dale also shared that he encourages other actors who have had significant roles in games to consider streaming as well. He believes that capitalizing on opportunities to stream a game one has acted in, particularly as a lead character, can be a transformative experience. "Don't just let it pass you by, because it could be the best thing you ever did. It certainly was for me. It changed my life completely," he concluded.
