Kingdom Hearts 4 is on track for its late 2027 release window and will not face further delays, according to series creator Tetsuya Nomura and co-director Tai Yasue. The development team expressed confidence in their current schedule during a D23 2026 panel, aiming to set the record straight on online speculation.
"I want to set the record straight: That is not happening," Nomura stated regarding potential delays. He encouraged fans to look forward to the game's 2027 arrival and anticipate more news as marketing efforts ramp up. Yasue echoed this sentiment, describing the development as "very smooth" and a "100% thing" that will be completed on time.
The assurances come as the franchise looks toward significant anniversaries. Nomura mentioned that with the upcoming 25th anniversary of Kingdom Hearts, the team is already considering plans for the 30th anniversary.
While a specific release date was not revealed, the confirmation that the game will not slip beyond late 2027 provides a concrete target for eager fans. The developers emphasized that numerous plans and developments are actively underway for Kingdom Hearts 4.
