Konami is venturing into uncharted territory with an announcement of official Metal Gear Solid-themed merchandise for cats, set to debut at CatCon 2026. This unique line of products will be available exclusively at the convention to celebrate the upcoming launch of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2.
The convention appearance will feature a dedicated Konami booth where attendees can purchase a variety of novelty items. Among the offerings are cat-scratch boxes designed to resemble the iconic in-game boxes used by Big Boss and Old Snake. Additionally, the collection will include plush pet toys and cat collars inspired by elements from Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.
For those unable to attend CatCon 2026, the merchandise will also be available for purchase through the OKS Gear Shop during the two-day event. The convention is scheduled to run from October 10-11. As a special attraction, CatCon 2026 will host a meet-and-greet featuring voice actress Kat Curtis and the popular catfluencer "One Eared Uno." The pair will also participate in a special playthrough video of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2.
Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 is slated for release on August 27 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. This collection aims to bring beloved titles from the series to modern platforms, including Peace Walker and Ghost Babel from the handheld eras, alongside Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, which will be freed from its previous PlayStation 3 exclusivity.
