Konami is eschewing traditional gaming expos in favor of the upcoming CatCon 2026, a large-scale event dedicated to feline enthusiasts. The company will be showcasing a new line of Metal Gear Solid-themed cat toys, including plushies, collars inspired by Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, and scratch boxes.

These MGS-themed pet accessories will be available for purchase online and at the CatCon event, which runs from October 10-11. This initiative coincides with the release of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2, launching on August 27.

Attendees at the Konami booth will have the opportunity to meet Uno, a one-eared cat described by Konami as a 'cat-fluencer'. Uno was featured in a special playthrough video of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2, where the cat-themed cardboard scratch boxes were revealed. The toys themselves have been noted for their surprisingly good design for video game merchandise.

While the focus is on cat-centric merchandise, the event also highlights the impending release of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2, offering a unique way for fans to engage with the franchise beyond the typical gaming convention circuit.
