Kylie Minogue Was Almost in the New Street Fighter Movie, Says Orville Peck

Kylie Minogue, who portrayed Cammy in the 1994 Street Fighter film, was considered for a cameo appearance in the recent live-action adaptation. Orville Peck, who voices Vega in the new movie, shared that he was involved in discussions to bring Minogue into the project. "They were having a hard time getting a hold of her or whatever, and I was like, ‘Guys, I can text her,’" Peck told LGBTQ+ publication Queerty. "So, I was trying to orchestrate this whole thing, and it didn’t work out with timing."

Minogue reportedly told Peck that filming the original Street Fighter movie was "one of the most fun experiences of her life" and that she was excited for him to experience it. Despite the cameo not materializing, Peck expressed a desire for Minogue and current Cammy actress, Meaghan J. MacGregor, to connect in the future, perhaps for a sequel.

"I’m still trying to orchestrate Mel Jarnson and her to be like the two Cammys in a photo," Peck explained, referencing the popular Spider-Man meme where two characters point at each other. "Yeah, maybe the sequel," he added. "We’ll see."

The new Street Fighter movie, which reportedly has a budget of $82 million, grossed approximately $51 million globally during its opening weekend. While it is expected to recoup its production costs, a sequel is not yet guaranteed, despite the film's ending setting up future installments.
