Larian Studios has once again publicly stated its non-involvement in any Baldur's Gate 3-related projects. This clarification comes in response to an announcement from Dark Horse Comics regarding a new comic series focusing on the popular character Karlach, which mentioned Larian alongside Wizards of the Coast.

Dark Horse initially posted on X, formerly Twitter, that the upcoming comic was "With [Larian] and [Wizards of the Coast]," tagging both companies. While Larian developed Baldur's Gate 3 and created Karlach, the studio appears keen to avoid any misconceptions about its current work.

"Maximum hijinks are happening right now, but we’re not involved in any BG3 related projects," the official Larian account responded on X. The studio shared an image of CEO Swen Vincke and writing lead Adam Smith during a script read-through. Larian indicated that they would soon share more information about their next project, which is set in the Divinity universe.

Since Larian announced it would not be developing Baldur's Gate 4, speculation has arisen about the nature of its relationship with D&D owner Wizards of the Coast. Larian CEO Swen Vincke has previously stated that the split was amicable, attributing the decision to creative exhaustion from working within another company's established setting. The studio's swift and direct clarification regarding the Karlach comic underscores its desire to manage expectations about its future output and to prevent any confusion about its ongoing development efforts, particularly as they pivot towards their own original IP in the Divinity series.
