League of Legends Classic has launched, bringing back champions with their pre-rework abilities. This new mode aims to capture the game's early era and will initially feature a roster of 60 champions.
These 60 champions consist of the original 40 released at the game's inception, alongside 20 additional handpicked early additions. Popular recent champions such as Locke, Yunara, and Zaahen, as well as more established characters like Yuumi, Yone, and Seraphine, will not be available in League of Legends Classic. The initial roster includes champions like Ahri, Alistar, Amumu, Annie, Ashe, Blitzcrank, Brand, Cho’Gath, Corki, Dr. Mundo, Evelynn, Ezreal, Fiddlesticks, Gangplank, Garen, Gragas, Heimerdinger, Janna, Jarvan IV, Jax, Karthus, Kassadin, Katarina, Kayle, Kog’Maw, Lee Sin, Leona, Lulu, Lux, Malphite, Malzahar, Master Yi, Miss Fortune, Morgana, Nasus, Nidalee, Nunu & Willump, Olaf, Pantheon, Rammus, Ryze, Shaco, Singed, Sion, Sivir, Skarner, Sona, Soraka, Taric, Teemo, Tristana, Tryndamere, Twisted Fate, Twitch, Vayne, Veigar, Warwick, Wukong, and Zilean.
The future expansion of the League of Legends Classic champion roster will be determined by player input. The game will feature a system called 'The Council,' which will allow the player base to vote on which champions are added next. Players gain access to The Council and accumulate voting power by playing Classic and earning Classic Levels. Those who invest more time into the mode will have a greater influence on the voting outcomes. Champions will be added in batches, with players voting on groups of champions rather than individuals. It is anticipated that new champions will be introduced at a faster rate than their initial release in League of Legends, with expectations of more than two champions per update. The developers plan to add champions in batches, so players will be voting on a group of champions rather than a single one.
