LEGO and Netflix Collaborate on Enormous 37,000-Piece Kpop Demon Hunters Build

LEGO designer Björn Ramant has unveiled a colossal Derpy Tiger build, inspired by the popular animated Netflix series Kpop Demon Hunters. Commissioned jointly by Netflix and LEGO, Ramant shared the impressive creation on his personal LinkedIn and Instagram accounts.

A time-lapse video, lasting approximately 90 seconds, documents the entire construction process, from the tiger's tail to its ears. Ramant reportedly utilized nearly 37,000 individual plastic bricks to complete the final model.

The monumental LEGO Derpy Tiger is currently on display at LEGO World 2026. This event is taking place at the Jaarbeurs convention center in Utrecht, Netherlands, and runs until October 21. Alongside this massive display, LEGO's official, much smaller, Kpop Demon Hunters set, "Derpy Tiger and Sussie Bird," is available for purchase.

While exact dimensions for the giant build were not revealed, it appears to be nearly as tall as Ramant himself. In response to inquiries, Ramant elaborated that the project spanned approximately two and a half months of intermittent work. He clarified that the 37,000 bricks were provided as part of the commission from the LEGO Group and Netflix, rather than being personally purchased.

The construction process, as shown in the video, involved using four steel rods for structural support as Ramant layered the distinctive blue and black fur of the tiger demon, culminating in its characteristic yellow eyes. Observers have likened the detailed timelapse to watching a human 3D printer in action.

Wes Talbott, a Master Designer involved in the original LEGO Derpy Tiger set, previously discussed the challenges of capturing Derpy's unique aesthetic in an interview with LEGO. He highlighted the difficulty in perfecting the character's eyes, stating that "It took a lot of testing to get both the shape and the angle right." Ramant's mega build appears to faithfully replicate this design.

The "Derpy Tiger and Sussie Bird" set remains the sole official LEGO release based on Kpop Demon Hunters to date. Speculation suggests that further collaborations or minifigure releases, potentially featuring HUNTR/X or Saja Boys, may emerge as discussions around a Kpop Demon Hunters sequel continue.
