LEGO has confirmed that a previously rumored Astro Bot set will be offered as a free “Gift With Purchase” for customers buying the upcoming LEGO PlayStation set. This special Astro Bot set, consisting of 276 pieces and intended for builders aged 18 and over, will not be available for individual purchase.
The LEGO Astro Bot features the iconic character utilizing its laser-induced hovering ability, with translucent blue beams emanating from its feet. It is supported by a black stand that includes an Astro Bot logo. The model aims to replicate the rounded aesthetic of the character as seen in its digital appearances.
The LEGO PlayStation set, a brick-built replica of the original PS1 console and its controller, will be released on October 1 for LEGO Insiders members and October 4 for the general public. The set includes functional Power and Open buttons, and hidden dioramas of Ape Escape and Gran Turismo within the disc drive.
