Lego Confirms Official Daft Punk Set, Teases Further Collaborations

The Lego Group has officially announced a partnership with Daft Punk, which will lead to new products, content, and brand experiences. This collaboration begins with the official release of a Daft Punk Lego set inspired by a fan-designed concept. The toymaker has indicated that this is only the start of their joint efforts.

The partnership launched with a short film featuring Daft Punk's tracks "Voyager" and "Human After All." This initiative follows Lego's trend of collaborating with various pop culture properties.

The inspiration for the Daft Punk set originated from a fan-designed Lego pyramid stage, reminiscent of Daft Punk's 2007 Alive tour. This design won the Lego Ideas "Music to Our Ears" challenge in 2020 and was submitted by fan Patrick Harboun and his son. "This all started as a creative escape during lockdown between my son and I because of our shared love of Daft Punk and Lego building," said Harboun. "We never dared imagine it would take off in this way. Watching our passion project become part of an official collaboration is an incredible experience, and it's a reminder of what makes the Lego Ideas community so special. That a simple idea, shared by fans, really can become something much bigger.”

Cédric Hervet, creative director for Daft Punk, stated, "The pyramid stage is one of the most recognisable expressions of Daft Punk’s visual world, so it feels fitting that this fan-created design will be centre stage of this partnership. Fans have always played an important part in Daft Punk’s story, and we are excited to see that creativity reflected through the Lego universe.”

The Lego Group has not yet announced a release date for the Daft Punk Lego set, describing it as "the ultimate symbol of shared fandom and the creative foundation of this partnership." The set will include minifigure versions of Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo. Beyond the set, Lego plans to "bring Daft Punk to life in new ways across the Lego brand, through a mashup of surprising events and content that crosses music, culture and creative spaces." Further developments are expected in 2027.

While Lego frequently collaborates with movie, TV, and video game franchises like Star Wars and Harry Potter, its recent ventures into music partnerships have included artists such as Olivia Rodrigo and KPop Demon Hunters.
