LEGO has unveiled a new building set that recreates the original PlayStation console, revealed during today's State of Play broadcast. This follows previous LEGO collaborations that have produced brick-built models of iconic gaming hardware such as the Nintendo Entertainment System, Game Boy, and Sega Genesis.

The LEGO PlayStation is designed as a nostalgic tribute to the 1994 launch model. The set features an opening disc tray, a functioning power button, and a controller that can be connected to the main console unit. In line with other detailed LEGO replicas, this set also includes two secret dioramas. These miniature scenes pay homage to early successful PlayStation titles, with one dedicated to Ape Escape and the other to Gran Turismo.

Specific details regarding the LEGO PlayStation set's pricing, release date, and the total number of bricks have not yet been disclosed. LEGO has indicated that further information will be made available on the Lego.com/PlayStation website, which is expected to be updated soon.
