Lego Skylines Announced as Brick-Based City Builder

A new city-building game, Lego Skylines, has been revealed, blending the popular Lego aesthetic with the genre popularized by Cities: Skylines. The game puts players in charge of constructing and managing a city entirely out of Lego bricks, populated by iconic minifigures. The official reveal trailer debuted during Gamescom's Opening Night Live event.

Lego Skylines is being developed by Iceflake Studios, which is also currently working on Cities: Skylines II. This partnership follows Paradox Interactive's decision to retain the Cities: Skylines brand after the original developer, Colossal Order, parted ways with the publisher in November 2025. Iceflake Studios was brought in to continue development on Cities: Skylines II, and now, Iceflake and Paradox are collaborating on the new Lego title.

The Steam page for Lego Skylines outlines the core gameplay loop. Players will be tasked with managing essential city services such as electricity, food, and water. Beyond the basics, the game encourages players to create a desirable living environment for their citizens, offering extensive customization options. The developers promise a "frankly absurd amount of buildings, decorations, and other cool stuff" to allow for highly personalized city designs. Players will also need to attend to services like hospitals, resource management for amenities like donuts, garbage collection, and sewage systems to ensure the city functions smoothly.

Lego Skylines does not currently have a release date window. Upon launch, the game is planned for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, and PC.
