LEGO has officially announced its latest addition to the Star Trek universe with the LEGO Icons Star Trek: U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 Bridge set. This new offering, scheduled for release on September 1, is now available for pre-order exclusively through the LEGO Store for $199.99.

The set recreates the bridge from Star Trek: The Original Series, complete with detailed controls and displays. It also includes the transporter room, adding further interactive play possibilities. A Klingon warrior is depicted on the main viewscreen, reflecting a memorable moment from the show. The set's design utilizes orange and gray as primary colors, accented with various other hues, and offers a modular construction that allows for customizable display arrangements.

Interactive features are a highlight of the set. Builders can engage with the captain's chair to simulate turbulence, operate a dial to activate the "beaming" function in the transporter room, and open or close the turbo lift doors. The set comes with eight minifigures representing key bridge crew members from The Original Series, including Captain Kirk, Spock, Nyota Uhura, Hikaru Sulu, Leonard McCoy, Pavel Chekov, Christine Chapel, and Montgomery Scott. Additionally, the set includes four tribbles and various character-specific accessories, such as Spock's harp.

This release follows LEGO's previous Star Trek set, the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D from The Next Generation. The company's ongoing partnership with Star Trek suggests potential for future releases, drawing parallels to its successful collaboration with The Lord of the Rings franchise, which has yielded annual, high-quality sets.
