LEGO has officially revealed its latest Super Mario range, introducing minifigure-scale playsets that include iconic locations like Bowser's Castle and a variety of Mario Kart vehicles. This marks a significant shift from LEGO's previous Super Mario offerings, which primarily featured larger-scale interactive sets.
The new collection will feature a broad array of Super Mario minifigures, with Luigi, Peach, Toad, Yoshi, Koopa Troopa, Bowser Jr., and a Bowser big figure all confirmed for the initial wave. These sets are scheduled for release on January 1, 2027.
The range begins with smaller, more accessible sets. Mario's Pipe Jump (72052) includes 61 pieces for $9.99, featuring a Mario minifigure, a Goomba, and a warp pipe. Racing with Mario (72054) offers 84 pieces for $14.99, presenting Mario with his kart and accessories like green and red shells and a banana.
Further expanding the selection, Mario's Beach Adventures (72055) is a 196-piece set priced at $19.99, depicting Mario in swimwear alongside a buildable snack bar, lounger, and an enemy crab. Luigi & Bowser Jr.'s Race (72056) builds on the kart theme with 104 pieces for $29.99, including minifigures of both Luigi and Bowser Jr. with their respective karts.
Moving to larger builds, Yoshi at Mario's House (72057) comprises 147 pieces for $39.99 and includes minifigures of Mario and Yoshi, along with a Goomba. Bowser's Rumbling Race (72058) is another Mario Kart-themed set with 409 pieces for $59.99, adding karts for Toad, Bowser, and a buildable Cow from Mario Kart, alongside minifigures of Toad and Bowser.
The flagship set of this wave is Fire Mario & Bowser's Castle (72060), an 850-piece build costing $99.99. This set features Fire Mario, Peach, and Koopa Trooper minifigures, a Bowser big figure, and a Goomba, centered around a Bowser's Castle structure.
Rounding out the initial offerings, Fire Luigi vs. Koopa Troopa Battle (72061) is a 241-piece set for $29.99, showcasing Fire Luigi and a Koopa Troopa minifigure.
A press release from LEGO stated that the new minifigure range signifies a refreshed LEGO Super Mario theme, newly centered on creative minifigure roleplay action. The updated theme will introduce building experiences focused on roleplay, incorporating iconic characters, karts, and environments from the Super Mario and Mario Kart universes.
