LEGO has announced a new building set that recreates Nike's classic Air Force 1 sneaker. The set, comprised of 1,093 pieces, is scheduled for release on September 1 with a retail price of $99.99.
This collaboration expands on previous partnerships between LEGO and Nike. The new set depicts the Air Force 1 not just as a shoe but as a scene where the sneaker appears to launch like a rocket. A notable inclusion is a minifigure reimagining the Classic Spaceman, posed to shoot hoops atop the AF1 logo.
The sneaker in the set appears to be based on the low-top Air Force 1. The build features the iconic white color scheme, but the Nike "swoosh" can be swapped to either gray, referencing the original 1982 colorway, or orange. The set is designed for display, continuing a trend LEGO has embraced for various themes and fanbases.
