Zombie-killing cheerleader Juliet Starling is set to make her return in Lollipop Chainsaw 2: Back 2 Back, Dragami Games announced today. The sequel is slated for release on PlayStation 5 in 2027. This new installment promises more fast-paced action with Juliet, who features a new outfit and roller skates for enhanced mobility.
The original Lollipop Chainsaw debuted in 2012 and garnered a cult following. The first game featured writing contributions from James Gunn and was conceived by Suda51. For the sequel, neither Gunn nor Suda51 are involved, with development handled by Dragami Games, the studio behind a recent remaster of the original title.
The game's story will see Juliet return to San Romero, now a metropolis named 'Jaredwood' and centered around the film industry. When a mysterious director traps her within a twisted zombie movie, Juliet must fight alongside allies to uncover a conspiracy and confront a new threat from the Corrupted Realm zombies.
Gameplay footage revealed at Tokyo Games Show 2026 showcased Juliet engaging zombies on streets, utilizing her roller skates for quicker movement. A boss battle against a zombie character inspired by Barbie, named Zorbie, was also featured.
A Lollipop Chainsaw anime series was previously announced to be in development, with no further updates provided at this time.
