Lords of the Fallen 2 has been delayed and is now slated for an early 2027 release, missing its previously anticipated fall 2026 window. CI Games CEO Marek Tyminski confirmed the shift, explaining that the extra time will allow for further refinement and strengthening of the game.
According to Tyminski, the development team has been collaborating closely with a dedicated Gameplay Feedback Team composed of experienced Souls-like players. Their input, alongside the internal vision for the game, has revealed opportunities for enhancements that require additional integration and polishing. Tyminski stated that this extended development period will enable the team to deliver the highest possible quality at launch.
The delay also serves a strategic purpose by positioning Lords of the Fallen 2 outside of a competitive holiday release period. September 2026 is particularly crowded with major game launches, including titles like Silent Hill: Townfall, Control Resonant, and Onimusha: Way of the Sword, as publishers attempt to avoid the shadow of Grand Theft Auto 6 in November. October also presents significant competition with titles such as Modern Warfare 4. By shifting to early 2027, Lords of the Fallen 2 aims to receive the dedicated attention it deserves.
Tyminski expressed that the team remains energized by the positive response to recent reveals and is focused on creating a strong dark fantasy action RPG. He also noted that early 2027 is becoming a common target for games originally planned for 2026, with titles like Fable also having adjusted their release windows to mitigate competition. CI Games expressed gratitude for the community's continued support and feedback, promising further updates in the coming months.
