Lords of the Fallen 2 Delayed to Q1 2027, Will Miss GTA 6 Launch Window

CI Games has announced a delay for Lords of the Fallen 2, pushing its release from 2026 to the first quarter of 2027, encompassing January through March. According to CI Games CEO Marek Tyminski, feedback and testing indicated "meaningful opportunities" to "further refine and strengthen the overall experience" with additional development time. He stated that these enhancements will benefit from more "integration, iteration, and polishing time," aiming to "deliver the highest possible quality at launch."

The decision to delay also serves to position Lords of the Fallen 2 away from a crowded competitive holiday release period. This strategic move is widely seen as an effort to avoid direct competition with major releases, notably Grand Theft Auto 6, which is slated for a November 19 release. Tyminski expressed that the development team remains energized by the positive reception to recent reveals and is focused on creating a "standout dark fantasy action-RPG" that will serve as a "worthy successor" to the franchise.

Despite its title, Lords of the Fallen 2 is actually the third game in the series, following the 2014 original and the 2023 reboot, Lords of the Fallen. An earlier licensing agreement that would have made the PC version of Lords of the Fallen 2 exclusive to the Epic Games Store has since been canceled.
