The developers of the romantic mobile RPG Love and Deepspace have issued a safety warning to players after its official social media accounts shared cocktail recipes that included poisonous and hallucinogenic ingredients. The recipes, inspired by in-game slimes, were intended to be fictional beverages but contained real-world garnishes that are harmful if consumed.
One recipe, "Artsyblobbu," suggested topping the drink with flame lily, a flower containing colchicine, which can cause severe gastrointestinal distress. Another, "Fiendyblobbu," recommended Datura, a psychoactive plant known for inducing hallucinations. A third, "Stellablobbu," included sea lavender, though this ingredient is not toxic.
Players quickly pointed out the dangerous nature of these concoctions, warning others against attempting to recreate them. In response to the backlash, the Love and Deepspace account posted a follow-up notice stating, "All drinks shown are fictional and for in-game purposes only. Do not attempt to recreate or consume them in reality."
The game, known for its focus on romantic interactions with supernatural characters, previously made headlines when its developers reversed a decision to add a new character, Valko, after fan backlash. This incident adds another chapter to the game's eventful history, highlighting the passionate and vocal nature of its player base.
