A dedicated fan of the mobile game Love Nikki – Dress Up Queen has shut down their extensive fan website, Nikki’s Info, citing religious objections to some of the game’s clothing designs, which they described as "demonic" and "irreverent."
The fan-made website had served as a comprehensive resource for players, compiling information on the game's clothes, accessories, story guides, and update details since 2018. The administrator announced the closure in a blog post, stating that they were quitting the game due to their religious convictions and had "done some horrible things involving the occult" which led to a near-death experience. They attributed their recovery to divine intervention but found themselves unable to "profit from or promote something which offends my God, my Saviour."
Specifically, the administrator pointed to a perceived disproportionate number of cross-themed items and their combination with "gothic demonic themes" as offensive to their religious beliefs. They clarified that while the game itself did not directly cause their personal struggles, these thematic elements played a role in their decision.
The blog post, which has since gone viral within the broader Infinity Nikki community, has prompted discussions and speculation among players regarding which specific in-game items may have triggered these concerns. Some players noted that the Nikki franchise has previously drawn inspiration from religious figures, citing an outfit set resembling a Pope-like ensemble in Love Nikki and an Infinity Nikki outfit set that incorporated imagery of the Virgin Mary in its headdress, as detailed by the official Infinity Nikki X account.
