Wizards of the Coast is releasing a new Magic: The Gathering Secret Lair collection titled "Rise of the Polygons | Extra Life 2026," which reimagines cards with artwork inspired by the blocky, low-polygon graphics of the Nintendo 64 and original PlayStation eras. The drop includes a reprint of the popular Sword of Truth and Justice, a card valued at approximately $30, featuring a distinct retro aesthetic.
This new Secret Lair collection also includes a reprint of Balefire Dragon, a card typically valued between $15 and $20. Other cards in the $39.99 non-foil set are Young Pyromancer and Big Score. Half of the proceeds from online sales will benefit Extra Life and Seattle Children's Hospital.
The Sword of Truth and Justice, originally released in 2019's Modern Horizons, is an Equipment card that grants its equipped creature +2/+2 and protection from white and blue. Its combat damage ability allows its controller to place a +1/+1 counter on a creature they control and then proliferate, adding another counter of each existing kind to any number of eligible permanents or players. This makes it a powerful card for decks focused on +1/+1 counters or planeswalkers.
Balefire Dragon, first printed in 2011's Innistrad, is a seven-mana 6/6 flying Dragon. Whenever it deals combat damage to a player, it deals that much damage to every creature that player controls, making it a significant threat in multiplayer formats like Commander.
The "Rise of the Polygons | Extra Life 2026" collection will be available for purchase on Magic's official Secret Lair storefront from November 16 through November 30. Non-foil versions are priced at $39.99, with traditional foil versions at $49.99. Attendees of MagicCon: Atlanta from November 13–15 will have an opportunity for an early purchase, though quantities will be limited.
