Magic: The Gathering's latest Marvel crossover set, Darkhold Destiny, is now available for preorder, with the Arcanum Bundle listed on Amazon for $99.99. This pricing positions the bundle significantly lower than other marketplaces, such as TCGplayer, which has listed the same product for $200.
The Darkhold Destiny Arcanum Bundle contains a Collector Booster with alt-art Arcanum promo cards and Full-Art Lands, alongside eight regular booster packs from the Darkhold Destiny set. This makes it an appealing option for collectors who favor special card treatments like silver foil versions and Midnight Raised Foils. However, the chance of pulling the rarest Mythic Rares from the Collector Booster remains low, at approximately 1%.
A key draw for the Arcanum Bundle is its trio of exclusive promotional cards. This includes one traditional foil Mythic Rare and two traditional foil Arcanum cards featuring alternate art unique to this bundle. The bundle also provides 30 basic lands, ten of which are full-art Bifrost lands (five foil, five non-foil), an oversized Spindown life counter, and a dedicated storage box.
From a narrative perspective, Darkhold Destiny continues the trend of Magic: The Gathering crossovers with Marvel, featuring a story where Dormammu and Hela exploit the Darkhold to traverse realities and spread chaos. The set appears to offer standard comic book-style excitement.
When considering the value proposition, the Arcanum Bundle's $99.99 price point should be compared to other available bundles. The regular nine-pack Darkhold Destiny Bundle is priced at $69.99 and includes a mechanically unique Mythic Rare promo. The Draft Night bundle, costing $119.99, comes with 12 boosters and a Collector Booster. For players prioritizing the quantity of packs, these latter two options might be more attractive.
Ultimately, the Darkhold Destiny Arcanum Bundle is recommended for avid Magic: The Gathering collectors seeking a substantial number of packs coupled with exclusive foil promotional cards. Given the current limited availability and the significant price difference compared to other retailers, interested buyers are advised to secure their preorder from Amazon while supplies last.
