A recent leak indicates that a Commander deck for Marvel's Spider-Man, a Magic: The Gathering Universes Beyond set released in September 2025, is slated for release on December 4.
When the Marvel's Spider-Man set initially launched, it notably lacked preconstructed Commander decks. Mark Rosewater, Magic's head designer, previously explained that the set's design cycle began small, and a late expansion by Wizards of the Coast left insufficient time to develop Commander products. However, Rosewater had also hinted that such decks could appear in the future, a possibility seemingly supported by a leak in June and further bolstered by this latest information.
The leaked details, shared on X by @MTGOSalseo, describe a Jeskai (white, blue, and red) themed deck with Peter Parker as the primary Commander, and Gwen Stacy and Miles Morales as alternative Commander options. The deck is expected to include 50 cards featuring brand-new art, comprising 30 newly created cards and 20 reprints from the original Marvel's Spider-Man and Marvel Super Heroes sets.
For collectors, a Collector's Edition of the deck is reportedly planned, featuring all cards with a surge foil treatment. This would mark the fifth instance of Wizards of the Coast releasing a fully-foil Collector's Edition Commander deck for a set, following similar treatments for Warhammer 40,000, Modern Horizons 3, Final Fantasy, and Marvel Super Heroes.
While these details are unconfirmed by official sources, the leak aligns with previous rumors and suggests that despite the Marvel's Spider-Man collection not being universally acclaimed by competitive Magic players, its potential Commander release could capitalize on the game mode's popularity and provide a holiday release for fans of the web-slinger.
