Man Arrested for Threatening 'Miami Vice '85' Crew with Knife

A 23-year-old man named Alex Perez was arrested Friday night on the Brooklyn set of the film "Miami Vice '85" for allegedly threatening crew members with a knife. The NYPD, citing information from TMZ, reported that a police officer working security on the set apprehended Perez. Video footage of the incident shows Perez being escorted by a staffer before reportedly producing a large knife from his sweatshirt pocket.

Perez, who has a criminal record, was reportedly taken into custody at 11:17 PM. During his arrest, he allegedly used racial slurs toward the production staff member. He has been charged with menacing with a weapon in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.

"Miami Vice '85" is currently filming in New York and is inspired by the original 1984 TV series, particularly its two-part pilot episode "Brother's Keeper." The film, directed by Joseph Kosinski, features Michael B. Jordan and Austin Butler as detectives Ricardo Tubbs and Sonny Crockett, respectively. Production is slated to move to Miami, Florida, after hurricane season concludes, with the film scheduled for release on May 19, 2028.
