The upcoming beta update for the medieval city-builder Manor Lords will introduce a highly anticipated feature: cow breeding. This addition aims to enhance the game's livestock management systems and add new layers to its economic simulation.
Beyond breeding, players will be able to import cattle. Specialized farm workers will manage pastures, collecting milk from the livestock. The update also includes the ability to slaughter cattle for beef. Pasture construction will now incur costs, scaling with size, and a new artisan, the cheesemonger, will be introduced, specializing in dairy production.
Structural changes are also part of the beta update. Buildings will be categorized into basic and advanced types. Advanced structures will require skilled builders hired from a new construction yard, while basic structures will see faster construction times. Construction sites will also become more dynamic, with visible progress stages for advanced structures, including workers moving water and the use of scaffolding and cranes.
New crops, such as oats, will be available for cultivation. These can be used to feed families or processed into animal feed. Players will need to ensure their animals are fed, especially during winter, to prevent starvation. The update will also allow players to set specific assignments for workplaces on a seasonal basis.
A new map, Wide Valley, featuring rivers, will also be included in the update.
