Mark Ruffalo Ready to 'Hulk Out' for Voting Rights

Mark Ruffalo, known for his role as the Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has stated that he will continue to embody the character while also actively participating in political advocacy. Ruffalo recently spoke at the "Hands Off Our Vote" event in New York City, urging voters to protect their rights and encouraging them not to be deterred by potential disruptions to the voting process.

"They're going to try and stop us from taking our country back and we're not going to let them," Ruffalo declared at the event. He also expressed a strong stance against any attempts to undermine the electoral process, directly addressing former President Trump and leading a chant of "hands off our vote."

Ruffalo acknowledged the potential risks to his career associated with his outspokenness on political and environmental issues, but emphasized his continued presence in the MCU. "Hey, I'm still here. They thought I was out for the count. I'm still here. I'm still playing the Hulk," he stated, as quoted in a social media post from Acyn. He added that the "only weapon" of those who wish to suppress votes is fear, and that collective action can inspire courage.

While Ruffalo's tenure as the Hulk has never been publicly jeopardized, Disney, the parent company of Marvel Studios, has faced scrutiny over political statements made by its employees and content. Ruffalo's latest appearances include major MCU blockbusters such as Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Endgame, the latter of which features a post-credits scene involving the Hulk.

Ruffalo concluded his remarks with a call to action, stating, "Our time to brave is coming. They're going to do anything they can to keep us in our homes. They're going to do everything they can to make us feel small. They're going to do anything they can to make us feel lost, to make it feel inevitable. It's not inevitable. We're inevitable. The truth is inevitable."
