Marvel Television has officially announced a new live-action series for Disney Plus titled Zodiac. Revealed at New York Comic Con, the show is described as a "spy thriller" and is expected to arrive on the streaming platform in 2028. Principal photography is scheduled to commence in London in the spring of 2027, with casting currently in progress.
While the exact plot details remain scarce, the title Zodiac refers to various criminal organizations in Marvel Comics lore, often based on astrological signs and frequently serving as antagonists to teams like the Avengers and S.H.I.E.L.D. Hints in the series' presentation suggested a potential visual connection to S.H.I.E.L.D.'s logo.
The announcement comes at a time when Marvel Television has been selective with its live-action output. Following the cancellation of Wonder Man shortly after its renewal, and with no immediate updates on follow-ups to series such as Moon Knight or Ms. Marvel, Zodiac represents a significant new project. The final season of Daredevil: Born Again is slated for release next year, and a new series, VisionQuest, is set to debut next week. Despite earlier speculation of a pause in live-action television production, Marvel Television reportedly has several shows in active development.
In addition to live-action, Marvel Television continues to expand its animated offerings. A second season of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is confirmed for January, alongside a third season of X-Men '97 and three Marvel Zombies specials in development for Disney Plus.
