This new application will serve as the primary hub for over 35,000 digital comics, encompassing titles from Marvel, Star Wars, and 20th Century Studios properties like Aliens, Predator, and Planet of the Apes. The existing Marvel Unlimited app will be retired in favor of this updated platform.
Enhanced Reading Experience
The Marvel Comics app is scheduled to launch on November 16. Webtoon aims to provide a "faster, more intuitive, and personalized reading experience" through a unified subscription service. Subscriptions are priced comparably to the current Marvel Unlimited service, starting at $9.99 per month or $69.99 annually. Beyond Marvel's core offerings, the app is also expected to integrate content from other Walt Disney Company brands, including Pixar and Disney Animation.
The new platform will be accessible on both mobile devices and web browsers. Key features include personalized discovery tools, a dynamic cover-scroll interface, tailored recommendations, and an updated smart panel system designed for seamless mobile reading. A 'Pull List' feature will keep readers updated on new issues from their followed series, characters, and creators, allowing them to manually add desired comics to their list.
Marvel Comics fans who are current subscribers to Marvel Unlimited will have the ability to transfer their existing reading history to the new Marvel Comics app. The app will offer two subscription tiers: a base plan at $9.99 per month or $69.99 per year, which provides access to new issues as early as three months post-print. An 'Ultimate' tier is available for $12.49 per month or $99.99 per year, granting early access to new issues within one month of their print release. A limited-time 'Founder Member' pricing for the Ultimate annual plan is set at $59.99 for the first year, with pre-registration opening on marvel.webtoon.com and at New York Comic Con 2026.
