Marvel Rivals to Recreate Avengers: Endgame's Iconic Battle in New 50-Player Mode

Later this month, the hero shooter Marvel Rivals will introduce a large-scale PvE mode titled Path to Doomsday – Avengers: Endgame. This new mode, launching on October 22, will pit 50 players against Thanos and his army.

The upcoming PvE event will be significantly larger than previous modes like the four-player Halloween-themed Zombie Mode. According to creative director Guangyun Chen, the mode will be set in the ruins of the Avengers Compound, where players will face Thanos and his forces. Chen indicated that the battle will incorporate iconic moments from the films, referencing Thanos' "I am inevitable" line.

While Thanos is unlikely to become a playable character, Marvel Rivals has recently expanded its roster of villains with additions like The Hood and Gorr the God Butcher.

Additional Content for Marvel Rivals

Beyond the Path to Doomsday mode, Season 10.5 of Marvel Rivals is set to receive further updates. On October 9, the Avengers: Infinity War mode will be available. This two-versus-two event challenges duos to collect Infinity Stones from opposing teams while simultaneously upgrading their characters.

In addition to these new modes, the game will also feature Halloween-themed skins for characters such as Devil Dino, Elsa, Blade, and Deadpool, starting October 15 as part of the All Hallows Glow event. On October 29, a new mode called Night of Illusions will be introduced, described by Chen as a "thrilling, suspenseful interactive puzzle experience."

The 18 versus 18 Annihilation mode will also receive a new map, Alchemax Headquarters. This influx of content comes after some player disappointment regarding the announcement that Season 10 would only include one new character, Gorr, breaking a previous streak of monthly hero additions.
