Insomniac Games has released a new update for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 on PlayStation 5, introducing a pair of free costumes and enhancements for the console. Among the additions is the "Brand New Day" costume, inspired by a recent storyline in Marvel comics. This outfit features a subtle texture and color palette that pays homage to classic Spider-Man iterations.
Alongside the "Brand New Day" costume, players can now equip a cel-shaded suit with an anime-inspired aesthetic, characterized by bold colors and a prominent spider emblem. Both costumes are available to all players via a free update and can be accessed from the in-game costume selection screen.
The update also brings Enhanced PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution) capabilities for the PS5 Pro, a feature that aims to improve 4K 60fps performance with advanced lighting technologies. While Marvel's Spider-Man 2 already offered a visually impressive experience, these enhancements are designed to further refine its graphical fidelity on compatible displays.
In addition to the new content and enhancements, the update includes a Power Saver mode for the console. Marvel's Spider-Man 2, unlike its predecessor, has not received post-launch story expansions. Insomniac Games has shifted its focus to its upcoming Wolverine title, which is slated for release on September 15 for PS5.
