The upcoming Disney Plus series, Marvel's VisionQuest, is set to debut on October 14th with a two-episode premiere. Following this initial launch, the show will employ a unique release strategy, deviating from both weekly single episodes and full season drops. Instead, subsequent episodes will be released in two-episode batches on a weekly basis until the final two episodes, which will then be released one per week.
This schedule positions the series to conclude before the December release of Avengers: Doomsday, allowing audiences ample time to catch up.
The series is described as a pseudo-sequel to WandaVision and Agatha All Along, focusing on Paul Bettany's Vision as he grapples with events following WandaVision and the loss of Wanda Maximoff. Much of the narrative appears to unfold within a digital space, potentially within Vision's own consciousness. This environment is expected to feature AI characters from previous Marvel projects, including FRIDAY, EDITH, JARVIS, and Ultron, often depicted in human form. While glimpses of Vision and Ultron's robotic forms are anticipated, the series may feature them predominantly in human guises, allowing for extensive performances from actors like James Spader as Ultron.
Marvel is positioning VisionQuest as the conclusion to a trilogy that began with WandaVision and continued with Agatha All Along. Vision's journey, or quest, involves searching for his family, particularly his son Tommy. Depending on the series' conclusion, there's a possibility that Vision and Tommy could appear in Avengers: Doomsday. While Paul Bettany's involvement in the film has not been officially confirmed, the filmmakers have noted that several appearances are being kept secret for the upcoming movie.
The reported release schedule for VisionQuest is as follows:
October 14: Episodes 1 & 2 October 21: Episodes 3 & 4 October 28: Episodes 5 & 6 November 4: Episode 7 November 11: Episode 8
