The latest story trailer for Insomniac Games' upcoming PlayStation 5 title, Marvel's Wolverine, has unveiled Lady Deathstrike as a significant foe for the titular hero. The trailer, titled “Ain’t No Hero,” depicts Wolverine facing numerous challenges and being overpowered by various characters, including the newly revealed Lady Deathstrike.

Lady Deathstrike, an adamantium-clawed antagonist, is presented as one of the primary threats Logan will encounter. While in the comics she has been associated with the mercenary group Reavers, this trailer suggests she leads a band of red ninjas aiming to capture Wolverine. The trailer also delves into Logan's internal struggles with his violent past.

Her background involves her father’s creation of the adamantium bonding process used on Logan. Although not a mutant herself, Lady Deathstrike is a cyborg whose skeleton is reinforced with adamantium, and her body is augmented with cybernetic implants. She attacks with claw-shaped fingers rather than retractable claws. Notably, Lady Deathstrike recently appeared in the Disney+ series X-Men ’97.

Given that Marvel's Wolverine is Insomniac Games' unique interpretation of the character, details regarding Lady Deathstrike's role and backstory may differ from established comic lore. The game is scheduled to launch on September 15. Fans have expressed a preference for a physical disc version of the game, contrasting with Sony's move towards digital-only releases for some future exclusives.
