Marvel Snap's limited-time Draft Mode is set to return on September 28, developer Second Dinner has announced. This iteration of the mode will introduce Sanctum scoring, a system borrowed from the Sanctum Showdown event. Under this scoring method, players earn points each turn by winning alternating locations, with the first player to reach 16 points declared the winner. This scoring approach is expected to favor decks built around control and movement mechanics.
Beyond the scoring changes, the returning Draft Mode will also default to displaying players' starred variants instead of the standard card art. This reappearance coincides with the launch of the Axis: Inversion season. The season will bring new cards, including Superior Iron Man and Anti-Polar Magneto, an extended three-week login rewards calendar, and a Team Clash limited-time game mode scheduled for mid-month.
Second Dinner designer Sam Stoddard indicated that the studio is still experimenting with Draft Mode and will be closely observing player feedback to shape future iterations. The mode's relatively quick return suggests it may become a recurring feature in Marvel Snap, potentially with further rule variations as the developers refine the experience.
