The open beta for Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls is set to launch on PC and PlayStation 5 from Friday, July 24, to Sunday, July 26. The playtest will offer players a chance to experience a significant portion of the game's content ahead of its full release, which is scheduled for one month later. Players will be able to download the beta via Steam or the Epic Games Store on PC, and through the PlayStation Store.

Playable Content

The beta will feature 16 out of the 20 planned characters, allowing players to experiment with most of the game's roster. Notable absences include the Hulk from the Avengers team, and Deadpool and Loki from the Samurai Outriders. The Unbreakable X-Men, Amazing Guardians, and Knights of Doom teams will be available with most of their members.

In addition to the character roster, players can expect to battle across six distinct stages, including Marvel's New York (Day and Night), Savage Land, X-Mansion, Knowhere, and Wakanda. The beta will also include both casual and ranked match modes, offering a full competitive experience. An Open Lobby feature will allow players to interact with each other outside of matches, using arcade cabinets to challenge opponents directly.

For those interested in the game's narrative, the beta grants access to the first three chapters of the story mode, focusing on the Amazing Guardians as Spider-Man forms the team. These chapters will feature fully illustrated motion comic cutscenes.
