Arc System Works has issued an apology to PC players experiencing performance issues during the recent beta for Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls. The developer confirmed it is "aware of the gameplay and performance issues" affecting the PC version and that its team is "actively investigating these issues and working on a fix." An update regarding the situation will be shared as soon "as we have more information."

The beta, which ran for a short three-day period, was marred by significant stuttering and poor optimization for PC players, detracting from the game's otherwise stylish combat. Some players reported the game as "one of the worst PC ports" they had encountered recently. Despite these technical difficulties, the Marvel Tōkon beta achieved a notable milestone on PC, reaching an all-time peak of 33,233 concurrent players on Steam. This figure surpassed the concurrent player counts for the betas of both Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8.

In an effort to assist affected players, Arc System Works released a six-point thread detailing community-suggested troubleshooting steps. These included running the Shader Warm-Up tool, disabling Frame Generation within the NVIDIA App, and turning off various screen-recording software. Some players have reported improvements after adjusting their display settings, such as switching from Borderless Fullscreen to Fullscreen mode.

Marvel Tōkon is scheduled to launch on Thursday, August 6. The developers have just over a week to address the reported performance problems and implement necessary fixes before the game's official release.
