Arc System Works producer Takeshi Yamanaka has admitted that rebuilding player trust following the troubled PC launch of Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls will be an "extremely challenging task." The fighting game, which debuted on August 6, has faced significant performance issues on Steam, impacting its reception despite broader engagement with the title.

Yamanaka expressed the development team's sincere commitment to creating an environment where players can fully experience the game they worked so hard to build. He acknowledged the difficulties PC players encountered at launch, particularly concerning performance, and stated that the team is addressing these issues head-on. "I feel that that is the most that we can do," Yamanaka said in an interview with VGC. "So the team will continue to work together as one to try to provide a game that the players can enjoy even more than the initial version of the game. And all we can do is do our best and pray that that sentiment will reach the player base."

Reports from PC players indicated that Tōkon was unusually demanding, consuming substantial system memory even for basic operation. Some players even claimed that pirated versions of the game performed better due to the absence of certain backend systems present in legitimate copies. While Arc System Works has released updates that have reportedly improved performance for some, for many players, the initial negative experience has led them to move on to other titles. The developer remains dedicated to the game's ongoing development, but the focus is now on a concerted effort to win back the confidence of the PC community.
