Arc System Works has revealed the final three playable characters for its upcoming tag fighting game, Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, completing the roster with the addition of Blade, Deadpool, and Loki. These characters join the previously announced Ghost Rider as part of the fifth team, Samurai Outriders.

The reveal trailer showcases Deadpool, voiced by Nolan North, in a segment filled with numerous Easter eggs. The character performs a rendition of Mortal Kombat's 'Toasty!' sound effect, executes Johnny Cage's signature 'Ball Buster' move, and strikes the 'Jack-O'-Pose' from Arc System Works' own Guilty Gear series. The trailer also includes a nod to fan speculation that the team might be named the Midnight Sons.

A Glimpse of Polygon Man

A particularly subtle detail emerges at the 1:43 mark of the trailer when Deadpool unleashes an attack dubbed "random bulls**t go!". Within this barrage, the geometric head of Polygon Man briefly appears as an opponent is repeatedly struck. Polygon Man, originally conceived as the marketing character and intended mascot for Sony's PlayStation brand in North America in 1995, was famously scrapped. He later resurfaced as the main antagonist in the 2012 crossover fighting game PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.

Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls is slated for release on PlayStation 5 and PC on August 6, 2026. To accompany the character reveals, Sony also announced an open beta scheduled for PS5 and PC from July 24 to 26, offering players a chance to try the game before its official launch.

Fans can anticipate extensive character-specific dialogue, particularly from Deadpool, who is known for breaking the fourth wall. The trailer already provides a taste of this, featuring banter between Deadpool and Wolverine, hinting at the dynamic interactions that will be present in the full game.
