Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls achieved a record-breaking open beta weekend, attracting a peak of 33,233 players on Steam. This figure surpasses the previous record held by Street Fighter 6's beta, which saw 32,787 players, and significantly outnumbers Tekken 8's beta attendance of 15,035 players.

Within the game's highest ranks, specifically Vibranium and above, data compiled by AlietteFaye revealed that Magick was the most frequently chosen character, both overall and as a Team Leader. Blade followed as the second most-used character overall. While Blade's usage as a Team Leader placed him fourth, behind Spidey and Shuri, he proved to be the most popular choice for an Assist Character. Magick also maintained strong popularity as an Assist Character, ranking second.

Magnéto and Spider-Man secured the third and fourth most popular spots for overall usage and as Assist characters. Conversely, Danger was the least utilized character across all categories, with Miss Marvel ranking just above her in overall use and assists but being more popular as a Team Leader.

The strong performance of Blade in the beta aligns with persistent fan demand for a new Blade movie and video game. Marvel President Kevin Feige has publicly expressed regret over the lack of progress on a Mahershala Ali-led film. The development of a Blade game has also faced uncertainty, with Xbox reportedly considering selling or closing Arkane Studios, the game's developer, as part of broader restructuring.

Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is scheduled for release on August 6, 2026. Marvel's Wolverine is also slated for release on September 15, 2026, for the PlayStation 5.
