Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, the latest Marvel Comics fighting game collaboration, offers a range of single-player content alongside its online offerings. To experience all available single-player modes, players can expect to invest at least 15 hours, according to How Long To Beat.

This 15-hour estimate encompasses completing all five Episode Modes, mastering the training challenges for over 20 fighters, navigating all five All-Star arena courses while exploring every path, and finishing other available game modes. While online multiplayer is a primary draw for many players, some single-player engagement is necessary for certain unlocks. Completing just 10 casual online matches, which takes under an hour, is sufficient to earn a unique color option for all characters.

The Episode Mode serves as the core of the game's single-player experience. Each team's episode takes approximately two hours to complete, including animated cutscenes. Upon finishing an episode, players unlock the Champion as a playable character and a specific color palette for the completed team. For instance, completing the Knights of Doom episode grants Color 5 for Doctor Doom, Magneto, Green Goblin, and Carnage. Subsequent playthroughs, especially when skipping cutscenes, can be finished in about an hour. Players can expect to spend eight to ten hours to beat all episodes if they are less experienced with fighting games, or six to seven hours for those with existing fighting game knowledge. The game also features a toggleable setting to skip battles, though trying each team is recommended.

Once a chapter is completed, it can be replayed, but the CPU difficulty automatically increases. The final form of the Champion presents a significant single-player challenge, though the exact rewards for defeating it at maximum difficulty remain unconfirmed. Players can reduce the difficulty if they struggle, but there is no apparent advantage to doing so.

Beyond characters, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls features several unlockable cosmetic items. The Champion is the sole character unlockable by finishing Episode Mode once. While this character can lead the player's team, they can also be assigned as an assist. As of this writing, there is no known method to unlock the Promoter or the suited form of the Champion. The game's roadmap also does not list any other character or costume-related unlockables beyond these. Additional colors for the base roster are earned through various in-game achievements. Color 5 is unlocked by completing Episode mode for each team. Color 6 is obtained by winning 10 casual matches. To unlock Color 7, players must achieve 100 KOs in Survival Mode, which also unlocks Hard Survival. Color 8 is awarded for completing both the Action Check and Combo Challenge for every character. Color 9 was a bonus exclusive to the Ultimate Edition of the game.
