Dataminers have uncovered evidence within Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls suggesting that the Fantastic Four and Daredevil could be among future downloadable content characters. The datamining group X0XLeak reported the findings, which include mentions of Doctor Strange, Wasp, Gambit, The Thing, and Daredevil within the game's files. Additional in-game file references point to Mr. Fantastic, Human Torch, and Invisible Woman.

Beyond new characters, the datamine also revealed potential new stages. Mentions of Klyntar, the home planet of the symbiotes, as well as the Sanctum Sanctorum and Japan, have been found. Klyntar could be associated with existing symbiote characters like Venom or Carnage, while Sanctum Sanctorum would naturally be a stage for Doctor Strange. Japan might tie into characters such as Peni Parker or other Japanese heroes.

Daredevil appears to be a particularly anticipated potential addition, as he has yet to feature in a major fighting game. Some observant players have noted his presence as a background character in Marvel Tokon's New York stage. The Fantastic Four's potential inclusion is also generating excitement, especially given that Marvel Tokon's team-based nature aligns well with the group of four.

Gambit's inclusion is also seen as a timely one, with the character having seen a surge in popularity due to his appearances in media like X-Men '97 and his cameo in Deadpool and Wolverine. Wasp's potential inclusion is noted as a surprise, particularly given the challenges small characters can present in fighting game development.

It is important to note that datamined information does not guarantee future content. Similar to Guilty Gear Strive, where hints of Jam Kuradoberi's inclusion were found in files years before her debut, these characters may not appear in Marvel Tokon for a considerable time, if at all.

Marvel Tokon has already confirmed its first DLC character, Cyclops, who will feature Phoenix Force abilities. He is slated to arrive this fall alongside a new stage as part of the game's initial year of content. Speculation suggests that other characters for the first season might include Silver Surfer, Nova, and Thor, based on recent tie-in comic appearances.

Despite a challenging launch, developer Arc System Works has released a patch addressing some of the PC performance issues, marking a step toward improving the player experience. The game's core mechanics have also begun to resonate with hardcore fighting game enthusiasts who initially found it too simplistic. Marvel Tokon is set to make its competitive debut at the CEO tournament, where it has secured the second-highest number of registered players.
